Looking Back at Life (Part 1 of 4)

My full name is Stacey and I am currently twenty one years old. I was born on October 25th, 1985 at 10:04 am. Ever since my mother told me the time of my birth, I have watched the clock in order to ring in the new year of my life. My birthday date is also special to me because I have been able to tell people that they should never forget my birthday because it is exactly two months until Christmas.

I am single and, for now, I am content living my life as a single woman until God feels I am prepared to have another person share a life with me. I am a senior and will be graduating on May 19th, 2007. It is hard for me to believe that college is almost over. Every day it seems like yesterday that I was a freshman wandering around campus with the campus map permanently attached to my hands. College, like high school, seems like it is going to be the longest four years of your life and at the beginning, appears to be never ending. However, when you finally near the end, you wonder where all the time went and wish time would slow down in order to enjoy what is left.

I was born in Burlington, North Carolina. Burlington is about 30 minutes outside Greensboro, North Carolina. We lived there for the first year of my life and then shortly after I turned a year old, my parents and I moved to Lynchburg, Virginia. My mother is originally from Lynchburg and we moved back to be closer to my grandparents. Lynchburg, in my opinion, is one of the best cities to raise a family. I have loved living here and find it hard to imagine my life anywhere else. Despite the criticism that Lynchburg receives from Liberty students, it offers great schools, churches, recreation activities, and more.

My mother and father are the best parents a child could possibly have in the world. I know that everyone else thinks that they have the best parents, but I truly do. My mother and father met on a blind date in college. My mother was going to college at Mars Hill, in North Carolina and they had mutual friends that decided to set them up on a blind date. I suppose you could say that the rest is history. They met, fell in love, and after a few obstacles were overcome were married on June 20th, 1980. My father is in the computer business; his official title is a computer programmer. All I know is that he is a life-saver when it comes to all of our computer needs. My mother has been a stay-at-home mom for about the last 20 years. Before I came along, she was an elementary school teacher. Just this past fall, she began teaching again by taking on a toddler class at a local day school.
